What do the words "Creative Community" bring to mind for you? How do you feel is the best way to utilize members in a Creative Community?
It feels nurturing to be surrounded by people who are pursuing the things that make them happy and inspired. Sometimes these friendships lead to creative collaborations and sometimes we’re all doing our own thing and supporting each other and cheering each other on in those endeavors. I’m new to L.A. but it already seems like there’s a really vibrant and open creative community here where people are down to collaborate and excited for each other.
How did you discover your creativity?
I don’t really remember a time when being creative wasn’t part of my life. My mom’s a painter and teacher and my dad’s an architect. My parents separated when I was young, so I grew up mostly with my mom and younger brother, but both parents were very encouraging of us being creative. I would make weird little paintings next to my mom while she was working on her canvases and my dad would take us to the office and let us play with all the fancy markers. When I took up music they were very encouraging. I think it was always understood that in life you should go towards what makes you happy.
